The pressure and price of successFernando Alonso is not a huge fan of the `paparazzi` or tabloid press. Early in 2005, en route to his first drivers` title triumph, the Spaniard switched on a television to find that an army of photographers and journalists had laid siege to his parents` house in Spain - in the hope of catching a glimpse of the young hero.
In more recent times, newspapers and magazines have published `spy` photos of the ace driver on a beach with a new girlfriend.
“I sometimes work 12 or 14 hours a day,” the 24-year-old Renault driver explained to Marca, “and then in the evening I have people trying to take a photo of me as I eat dinner.”
He said: “Journalists, who do not know me, want an interview - and if they don`t get it, they threaten to write bad things about me.”
