‘When Anthony stayed, that really didn`t help me’Adam Carroll is disappointed to have missed out on the coveted Friday testing spot at Honda this year. The young Ulsterman had been first in queue to inherit the ride, had Anthony Davidson found a race seat for the coming season. Carroll won three GP2 races last year.
“When Anthony stayed, that really didn`t help me,” he admitted to Setanta. “If he had gone, I think I had a really good chance. I`ve just got to concentrate on racing now.”
The Portadown-born test driver also allayed fears that F1 horse power has fizzled out over the winter, insisting that a 2.4 litre V8 is still mighty.
“It has tonnes of power,” Carroll said. “It`s still incredibly quick. It`s probably easier (to drive), it`s maybe ten miles an hour slower on the straight, and you can brake a lot later because you are going that little bit slower.”
“It`s exactly the same through the corners, though.
