While nine teams are busy preparing for qualifying at Monaco later today, BAR Honda are busy looking forward not to Sunday`s race, but the one a week later at the Nurburgring.
The team of course are being forced to miss the Monaco event due to the International Court of Appeal`s findings over the team running an underweight car at the San Marino Grand Prix. One driver particularly frustrated is Jenson Button who believes he had a good chance of success at Monaco.
"Any driver would be devastated to miss Monaco; it’s the race everyone wants to win," Button said. "I love racing here and we did so well last year. We could have been so strong here this weekend. But as disappointing as it is, we have to accept it and move on."
While Button will not be on track at Monaco, he is at the principality to work with team sponsors and partners.
"I will be attending a couple of dinners and doing appearances in between the sessions - it’s seems as if it’s pretty much business as usual on the hospitality front," Button continued. "I think that’s exactly what we should be doing - making the most of a difficult situation. I won’t be in the Paddock on race day but I will be watching the race with some friends and family. Sure it will be difficult, but it will just fire me up even more for the next race, which fortunately is only a week away."
