Updating the home of the French GPMagny Cours, home of the French Grand Prix, is to get a three million euro facelift following a decision taken by the regional authorities in the Nievre region.
Work will get underway immediately to bring the circuit into conformity with Formula One standards to host Grand Prix events and also the Superbike world championships.
"It`s to bring the circuit into line with standard regulations," Gerard Dumas president of the company which runs the circuit explained Thursday.
"The programme for our work for this year corresponds at the same time to the technical, visual and needs of comfort."
Work will be finished by the end of March with the circuit set to host the 11th of the 19-leg of the world championship series on July 16.
