Jerez - Tuesday - Testing
After a few days off from testing activities, four teams were back in action today at Jerez with Alex Wurz leading the way for the Williams Cosworth squad.
The recently recruited test driver completed 46 laps, recording a best time of 1:18.144s, two-tenths faster than the team managed on its last test at the Spanish circuit. Williams race driver Nico Rosberg was fourth fastest, six-tenths adrift.

Honda had both Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello on hand, setting the second and third best times respectively in the new RA106. Button lost some track time due to a mechanical problem. Over at Toyota, test drivers Ricardo Zonta and Olivier Panis set the fifth and sixth best times in the TF106, but were two seconds a lap off the pace of Wurz.

Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro were on track for MF1 Racing, setting the seventh and eighth best times respectively. Albers ran the new M16 chassis while Monteiro was consigned to the older chassis.

Ferrari meanwhile were back in action at Fiorano with Michael Schumacher taking over the 248 F1 from Felipe Massa. It was another cold and sunny day as Schumacher completed 121 laps with a best time of 57.652s.

Testing continues at Jerez tomorrow with BMW Sauber, McLaren Mercedes, and Renault joining the action. Ferrari continue at Fiorano.
