Jerez - Wednesday - TestingFernando Alonso set the fastest time today at Jerez. The World Champion is followed by Jenson Button and Juan Pablo Montoya in second and third positions.
Montoya waited until the afternoon to go on the track and set encouraging lap times at the wheel of the MP4-21. Pedro de la Rosa set the fourth quickest time, the Spaniard driving an MP4-20 powered by a Mercedes V10 engine.
No serious incidents occurred today, although both Honda drivers were momentarily stopped on the track. Ralf Schumacher and Nico Rosberg were also temporarily stopped on the track because of technical problems.
Jarno Trulli went off the track near the end of the session but there was no serious damage to his car.
