BMW Sauber’s day at JerezNick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve were in action today at Jerez for BMW Sauber’s second day of testing this week.
Nick worked on the set-up of the car and tested Michelin tyres for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Unfortunately he had to stop earlier due to a fuel system problem, and hence was not able to complete the scheduled programme today.
Jacques completed the scheduled Bahrain tyre option evaluation. However, just at the end of the test day a cooling system damage caused by a foreign object forced him to stop testing.
In total,
Nick Heidfeld completed 62 laps today, his fastest in 1’18”271. Jacques Villeneuve covered in a total of 110 laps, his best in 1’18”207.
Tomorrow Nick will continue with the Michelin tyre test for Bahrain while Robert will drive the new car for the first time. He will use the morning to get used to the F1.06 and then will do long runs for further Michelin tests.
