Four spares retained for the final three racesIt`s been a rather turbulent week for A1 Grand Prix. The series announced this afternoon that from this weekend`s race at Sentul Circuit Indonesia, the participating teams will run one Lola chassis rather than the normal one chassis and a spare.
"The teams must nominate which of their two chassis will be their race chassis for the remainder of the season, then disassemble the other and send the tub back to A1GP`s Technical Centre at Silverstone Circuit in England," the team said in a statement.
"The teams will keep the parts removed during disassembly as spares and A1GP will keep four complete chassis at each of the final three rounds to be used in case of accidents."
Following the last race in Durban, Aon South Africa claimed they were owed $6 million in unpaid insurance premiums. After some legal manoeuvrings the case was settled out of court and the 50 cars that had been impounded, were released to travel to Indonesia for this weekend`s race.
