Yamamoto to race in Japanese Super GTSakon Yamamoto is no longer in the running to land the second race seat at new Japanese led Formula One team Super Aguri.
Like Kosuke Matsuura, who removed himself from the running by re-signing to compete in the IndyCar series, the Japanese appeared in a Thursday press release which confirmed that he will race in Japanese Super GT with the Nissan team.
With BAR-Honda refugee Takuma Sato a dead-certainty for the lead ride, Yamamoto`s demise leaves 30-year-old Formula Nippon driver Yuji Ide in the box seat.
“Our driver line up for 2006 will be announced shortly,” press and driver liaison officer Emma Bearpark said.
