No plans for a move to RussiaOn the back of reports that MF1 Racing intend to sign Russian aircraft and space specialists, Alex Shnaider has denied that he could move the English-based team to Russia.
The Russian-born Canadian told Russian online daily newspaper MosNews that he sees the longer term future of MF1 - although debuting with a Russian race license in 2006 - well rooted at Silverstone.
Shnaider said at the venue of the British Grand Prix: "We have no plans to have a design team anywhere else. If we hire people in Russia, we would get them visas and bring them to work here."
Despite boasts of possible Russian staff and a Russian team `flavour`, however, not a single major Russian sponsor adorns the new red and grey car`s livery.
"It will pick up," the 36-year-old billionaire said. "F1 is still new to Russian companies, but now there is a Russian-licensed team it will bring up the interest."
Shnaider also predicted that Formula One will eventually race at a Russian Grand Prix, probably in capital Moscow.
"I think it should happen... within five years."
