With Villeneuve and KubicaTeam BMW Sauber started another week of testing today in Barcelona, with Jacques Villeneuve and Robert Kubica.
Both drivers were at the wheel of BMW Sauber F1.06’s, Villeneuve driving chassis number 3 and Kubica using chassis number 2.
Jacques Villeneuve ran with the team a damper test and in addition to that he worked on an evaluation of several new components. The Canadian covered a total of 40 laps, his best in 1’17”514.
Robert Kubica used the test day to work on the set-up of the car. The official BMW Sauber test driver completed a total of 88 laps, his quickest in 1’17”551.
Tomorrow Nick Heidfeld will take over the driving from Robert and will do set-up work in preparation for the race simulation on Thursday. Jacques will continue to assess dampers and will help Michelin to evaluate tyres.
