‘They do nothing to enhance Formula One’Pat Symonds has slammed the Midland-owned MF1 Racing team for doing `nothing to enhance` Formula One. In a season preview for F1 Racing magazine, Renault`s engineering director also said the team - which bought Eddie Jordan`s Silverstone based squad a year ago - lacks passion.
"Are Midland still around," Symonds wondered. "I haven`t looked recently. I see nothing in them that has any passion... so I see no reason to say, `good luck to the little guys`."
"They had a damn good (Toyota) engine last year, but did nothing with it. As a team, they do nothing to enhance Formula One."
MF1 Racing has been seeking an image boost in recent months, after the media delivered the message in 2005 that Alex Shnaider - like surly team principal Colin Kolles - was not committed to the sport.
