Valencia - Monday - Testing
McLaren, Renault and Williams completed a first day of testing this week at the Valencia circuit.
In total, five drivers were on duty and Nico Rosberg set the fastest lap at the wheel of his Williams FW28. Pedro de la Rosa finished the day in second place, less than a tenth of a second faster than the other Williams driver, Mark Webber.

Heikki Kovalainen was the only Renault driver on the track, the Finn taking fourth place on the time sheets. Gary Paffett was the only driver at the wheel of a previous generation car, using McLaren’s MP4-20B. The British driver was more than two seconds slower than Nico Rosberg.

Both Webber (twice) and Paffett stopped on the track during the day, the Williams driver because of mechanical problems and Paffett after a deliberate attempt to make a fuel consumption test... that ended when his car’s fuel tank was empty.
