Suspension failure for RaikkonenKimi Raikkonen will start from the back of the grid for Sunday`s Bahrain Grand Prix after a spectacular machanical failure in the first phase of qualifying.
Raikkonen was approaching turn nine of the Sakhir circuit on his first lap out of the pits when his right-rear suspension failed forcing the 26-year-old driver into a spectacular spin.
He drove - almost dragged - the car back to the pits but the damage was severe and the McLaren team were unable to repair the car in time for him to complete a lap in the 15-minute first part of qualifying.
Therefore he was eliminated from the rest of qualifying and will start last.
