Toyota driver Ralf Schumacher said here Thursday that he is 100 percent fit and looking forward to racing again in this weekend`s French Grand Prix.
The brother of seven-time champion Michael Schumacher, who celebrated his 30th birthday here Thursday, has not tested since his heavy high- speed crash in practice for the controversial Untied States Grand Prix two weekends ago. But he is confident he will suffer no problems here this weekend.
"I am fine. I didn`t have any serious problems or injuries and the doctor told me to take it easy just in case. There had been trouble with the tyres as everyone knows and it was not worth taking the risk."
Schumacher was prevented from racing at Indianapolis on doctors` orders after a tyre blow-out pitched him into the barriers at turn 13 and he was replaced for the race by Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta.
He has spent the past few weeks recovering with his family at his home in Austria and feels ready for the challenge of racing on the 2.74-mile track in France, where he won with his former team Williams in 2003.
"I feel great," he added. "I have had a chance to take a rest and relax at home. I am feeling completely normal - or as normal as a racing driver can ever feel."
The younger Schumacher missed last year`s race while suffering from a fractured vertebrae, so the last time he raced at Magny-Cours was when he was victorious in 2003.
