The Italian clocked over the speed limit in RomeRenault driver Giancarlo Fisichella was stopped by police this Sunday morning for driving over the speed limit. The Italian’s driving licence was suspended, according to Ansa news agency.
Around six this morning, Fisichella was clocked at 148 km/h on an avenue located in a suburb of Rome. The speed limit on that street is 60 km/h.
Fisichella admitted his fault and explained to Ansa news agency that he was in a hurry to see his child, who was feeling sick.
“I was visiting friends with my wife,” explained Fisichella, “when the babysitter called to tell us that our child was having a high fever and wanted to see his mother, so we immediately went back.”
“I know that even in these situations, we have to follow the speed limits,” added the Renault driver. “I am willing to pay for my mistake,” mentioned the Italian.
