he surprise leader at the start of Sunday`s Qualifying Practice at the Official Test in Catalunya, James Ellison could have seen himself driving home in a brand new BMW Z4 M Roadster.
However it wasn`t to be, and the car would eventually go to Yamaha`s Colin Edwards, with Ellison still having much to be proud of in the session.

"I`m a bit disappointed with the final position, as we were going well straight away and were around four seconds ahead. I was feeling confident from the first lap, and I pushed harder but obviously not hard enough," said Cumbria`s finest.

Whilst unhappy at not being able to win the car, which he had planned to give to his parents, Ellison couldn`t fail to see the positive side of the result.

"Now I really feel like I`m a part of the championship. Before I was just riding round at the back, a little separate. This performance has given me the confidence to be right up there with the contenders."
