In SupersportThe first two races of the 2006 Supersport season have unexpectedly catapulted Scandinavian riders into the limelight. Dane Robbin Harms of Team Stiggy Motorsport and Swede Johan Stigefelt of Team Dark Dog Stiggy Motorsport have both excelled.
25 year old Harms, from Copenhagen, is back for his second year in SS after showing his talents in his very first season, and finishing fourth at Brno to achieve his best ever SS result.
Harms has shot into the top ten this year, finishing sixth in the first race of the season at Losail in Qatar and doing even better at Phillip Island in Australia where he finished fifth after losing the battle for fourth place by just one hundredth of a second in a dash to the line.
Thirty year old Johan Stigefelt from Anderstorp in Sweden also did well. His fifth place in Qatar was his best ever SS result, and only a second behind fourth place. He also turned in another great performance in Australia, finishing seventh, beaten in a sprint for sixth place by home rider Brookes.
On the other hand, Tatu Lauslehto, the 23 year old from Tuusula in Finland has had a disappointing start, well below his full potential. Lauslehto finished outside the points in both races (24th at Losail, withdrew at Phillip Island). He promises to do better at Valencia, however, where he is eager to keep up with his team mates.
