Colin Edwards started racing in 1991 in USA. He won all race from the 600, 750 and 250 when he finished.
In 1992 Colin Edwards became national champion with Yamaha.
In 1993, Colin Edwards finished 6th, in AMA Superbike championship.
In 1994 he won 3 races in AMA SBK championship and finished season sixth overall.
In 1995 Colin Edwards competed in the World Superbike championship with factory Yamaha team. He finished that season in 11th place.
In 1996 Edwards finished season 5th and won Suzuka 8 hour race.
Because of injury in 1997, Colin Edwards lost most of the season and finished season 12th.
Since 1998 Colin made good progress. He finished season 5th with Castrol Honda Team.
In 1999 Edwards finished on the 2nd position in the World Superbike championship. C
Colin Edwards took World Superbike Championship title aboard HondaVTR 1000 (RC51) in 2000.

Since 2003 Colin Edwards compete in MotoGP class. In 2003 he run for Aprilia Racing Team. Edwards finished season on the 13th position.
Since 2005 Colin is part of the Yamaha Racing Team togehter with Valentino Rossi.
