Marco debuted in 125 cc class in 1998. On 1998 and 1999 Melandri competed for Honda, but in 2000 Marco was selected by Aprilia to ride in 250 cc.
In 2001 Marco Melandri takes his first win riding the bike vacated by Valentino Rossi.
One year later Melandri takes 9 vitories at 250 cc class and he became world champion at this class.
In 2003 Marco Melandri make step into MotoGp but he brokes his leg in first grand prix, and he suffered another injuries.
After a year, in 2004, Melandri became revelation of the season riding a Honda RC211V.
Marco Melandri compete in 2006 with number 33 with a Honda RC211V.
