`Our aim is to keep the Mitsubishi brand alive`
Following the withdrawal of the MMSP Ltd works team from the World Rally Championship, Mitsubishi Motors Motor Sports and MMSP Ltd will continue to operate through business gained from customers, private teams and driver entries. This format will start with the Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo (January 19-22, 2006) and continue with the Swedish Rally (February 9-12, 2006).
In co-operation with the Italian based Mitsubishi Ralliart Italy Team, Gigi Galli and his new co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini are registered to drive a Mitsubishi Lancer WRC05 as a private entry in Monte Carlo and Sweden.

MMSP Ltd, based in Rugby, is providing the fully prepared car and the technical support. The operations will be held in cooperation with Ralliart Italy under the guidance of Ralliart Team Director, Mario Stagni.

The Mitsubishi Lancer WRC05 that Gigi Galli will drive in the Monte Carlo and Swedish rallies is based on the homologation allowing privateers to compete under FIA regulations for 2006 and is a similar technical specification to the WRC05 car that he drove last season.

MMSP`s Managing Director and Head of Mitsubishi Motor Motorsports, Isao Torii, said: “Our aim is to keep the Mitsubishi brand alive in several rounds of the Rally World Championship. On the first two events of the season we are able to achieve this with the support of Ralliart Italy.

Our team, MMSP Ltd., is well equipped with highly experienced personnel, the technical and engineering backup and mechanical expertise as well as strong management, so we are able to offer packages or private team initiatives for the appropriate fees.”

Privateers and potential customers can see an MMSP Ltd representative on the Mitsubishi Motors Stand 6010 in Hall 6 at the Birmingham NEC at the Autosport International Show January 12-14, 2006 for additional information.
