Monte Carlo Rally 2006: OMV CEE - Finish
The OMV Group N drivers successfully finished their assignment in the principality. Tibor Cserhalmi and Andrej Jereb reached third and fifth place respectively at the season`s opening of the FIA World Rally Championship 2006 despite harsh road conditions.

Tibor Cserhalmi (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII) definitely has reason to rejoice. The Slovakian OMV driver not only finished the 74th Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo but reached a sensational third place in the series class. This means the Slovakian Champion`s biggest success so far in the FIA World Rally Championship. Cserhalmi: “We`ve also been here last year and therefore were acquainted with the conditions a bit. Still, it was extremely difficult and we`re overjoyed to have reached the finish.”

Andrej Jereb was equally overjoyed. Monte Carlo was only the second WRC race of the Slovenian. And the Group N driver adapted better and better to the conditions by each kilometre. Supported by a OMV delegation consisting of 30 fans Jereb reached an excellent fifth place. Jereb: “Some stages were incredible. It surpassed my wildest dreams. To be right here and now at the finish in Monte Carlo made all efforts worth the while. We are extremely happy.”
