Sweden Rally 2006: Shakedown
The shakedown session of the Swedish Rally took place this morning between 8.00 and 12.00 in Rada, which is around 5km from the service park.
The weather conditions were near perfect for the event, a sunny day with temperatures staying under the freezing point, which helped to maintain enough ice and snow on the 4-km course.

There was no major incident to report during the session, the teams and drivers taking the time to make final adjustments on the cars before the start of the race tomorrow morning.

Local star Daniel Carlsson was the fastest driver at the wheel of his Lancer. The Swede set the pace, followed by Manfred Stohl in his Xsara and Mikko Hirvonen in his Ford Focus.

Behind the leading trio, Sebastien Loeb achieved the fourth best time at the wheel of his Xsara, followed by Henning Solberg`s 307 (5th), Gianluigi Galli`s Lancer (6th) and the Impreza of last year`s winner Petter Solberg (7th).

We will have to wait until the start of the race on Friday morning to see of these results were a good indication of the leading drivers` pace.
