Norway Rally 2006: OMV Peugeot Norway - Leg 1The OMV Peugeot Norway World Rally Team (Peugeot 307 WRC) gave a perfect performance on the first 142 SS-kilometres of the Rally Norway.
Henning Solberg won six of today`s completed special stages and leads after leg one by 51 seconds on Daniel Carlsson on Mitsubishi. Obviously both drivers want to be victorious tomorrow. They promise an exciting finale on day two.
Henning Solberg is thrilled after having achieved six special stage best times and a lead of 51 seconds prior to leg two: “I`m extremely satisfied. It was a great day for us and I feel really good about the handling of the Peugeot. The set-up is perfect – the team of Bozian Racing once again did a perfect job.”
Attack from Sweden
Daniel Carlsson, currently in second place, wastes no thought on capitulating: “If I were Henning (Solberg) I wouldn`t have a good night`s sleep for tomorrow he`ll have a hard time fending off my attack.” But Solberg remains calm. “There is no way a Swede will win the Rally Norway,” says the highly motivated OMV driver from Norway.
