Despite of our efforts, Rene Metge is unfortunately constrained to give up finishing the Rallye d`Orient in Iran for this year. Indeed, it is not possible any more to ensure the good progress of the rally in this country and the course is thus modified.
The competitors will remain in Turkey like the last years. It is with much regret that this decision was taken but Rene Metge could only note impossibility of carrying out to end this challenge which was the arrival of the Rallye d`Orient in Iran. It was thus decided to push back one year this project in order to leave more time at the Iranian Federation (MAFIRI) and the authorities to prepare this event.
The Rallye d`Orient will thus start from Ankara on June 26th. After a loop for the first stage, the competitors will take the direction of the traditional stage of Urgüp in Cappadoce. The following stages those will be initially envisaged in the east of Turkey with stages with Sivas and Erzurum.
In Erzurum, the rally will make half-turn to go back to Ankara via Sivas and Urgüp, but with special stages completely different from the way outward route.
