Norway : OMV Peugeot Norway - Finish
The OMV Peugeot Norway World Rally Team celebrated its first victory. Henning Solberg/Cato Menkerud won thirteen out of 14 special stages and triumphed at Rally Norway with a lead of over some five minutes.
The OMV Team`s strongest competitor, Daniel Carlsson in the Mitsubishi Lancer WRC, had an accident on SS 12 and wasn`t able to finish the rally - driver and co-driver remained unharmed. Thus three Norwegian teams found their way onto the podium. Hamar and vicinity celebrated the successful native drivers and an equally successful WRC-candidature.

Henning Solberg is more than satisfied having achieved 13 out of 14 possible best times.

"We had a completely trouble-free rally: car, driving, organisation, road conditions - everything just was a lot of fun. It was important to us to win this event - I didn`t want to disappoint the fans in any way." said Solberg.

Co-driver Cato Menkerud also celebrated: "A rally out of the textbook. I hope to find the Rally Norway in next year`s WRC-calendar - the organisers did a perfect job."
