Another country joins the listAnother country is hoping to be selected for a round of the World Rally Championship: Malaysia. Last week, the Prime Minister of Malaysia announced in a press conference in Kuala Lumpur that an important local company and the government will join forces to organise a World Rally Championship event within the next two years.
According to Prime Minister Yab Dato` Sri Haji Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the goal is to analyse current rallies in the country to see which region would be the best location for such an event.
In March, the first round of the Malaysian Rally Championship will be take place in Pahang (east Malaysia) with the support of palm oil producer Felda.
The list of countries hoping to organise a round of the World Rally Championship is getting longer every month. The list includes the following countries:
