In the Finnish Rally Championship
Seven-time Finnish Rally Champion Sebastian Lindholm will make his return in the Finnish Rally Championship after taking a sabbatical year last season. The Finn will drive a Peugeot 206 WRC 2003, prepared by Peugeot Sport.
“In the beginning of the year I got the opportunity to join the series,” mentioned Lindholm on his official website. “I visited Peugeot Sport and after the visit we made the decision. I checked with my old service crew and when everybody were willing to do the series again, the final decision was easy to make.”

The Finn never intended to retire from the sport and clearly announced in 2004 that he wanted to take a sabbatical year. His co-driver Tomi Tuominen knew about the situation from the start.

“Last year Basti actually joked that he would continue driving at least as long as Stig Blomqvist. And you never know, he might be serious about it. I promised to be his co-driver to the end of his career,” said Tuominen.

Despite missing the first round of the Finnish Rally Championship – the International Artic Lapland – Lindholm will be ready for the Vaakuna Rally this weekend, the second round of the championship.

“We will start from the Finnish Championship Rally in Mikkeli, so we will be challenging the others all season. For the winter rallies, we will probably have to get used to driving on snow again since I haven`t competed on snow for two years now. Hopefully, in the summer we will also be able to win events. Our goal is to drive well through the season and to enjoy the races,” concluded Sebastian Lindholm.
