One additional race for the young hopefuls
For the first time in the history of Rally Argentina the race will be valid for the FIA Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC).
The FIA Junior World Rally Championship aims at supporting new young drivers who hope to enter the top rally category. These drivers, who were born on or before January 1st 1977, are behind the wheel of 1600cc front-wheel-drive vehicles.
The category was created to give aspiring drivers as well as engineers, mechanics and manufacturers a chance to advance another step towards the World Rally Championship.
Five years after its beginning, the category has markedly grown and now there are 6 makes producing cars for the competition, which has resulted in a huge media and marketing boom.

Simply the best
As regards Production cars, a promising number of drivers, almost the entire category, has nominated Rally Argentina as one of the 6 races to score points. As obviously expected, among them are Argentine drivers Gabriel Pozzo, Marcos Ligato and Sebastian Beltran.

There is also a growing interest of drivers and teams to take part in JWRC debut in Rally Argentina.

In the top category, 5 teams have already confirmed their taking part in Argentina with 2 cars each: Kronos Total Citroën WRT, BP-Ford World Rally Team, Subaru World Rally Team, OMV-Peugeot Norway and Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Rally Team.

So far the only three drivers confirmed are reigning champion Sébastien Loeb in a Citroën, Marcus Grönholm in a Peugeot and Petter Solberg in a Subaru.
