Mexico : SS 6 - 21.61 kmPetter Solberg appeared to be dominating the race earlier today, taking four consecutive stage victories. However, the Subaru driver didn`t build a very substantial lead, with both Mikko Hirvonen and Sebastien Loeb close behind him.
Once again Sebastien Loeb takes another stage win in SS6. The Kronos driver is still third in the race standings but the gap separating him from Solberg is starting to melt under the Mexican sun: only 11”7 seconds separate the two men, with Hirvonen sandwiched in between!
The Ford driver has been fast and consistent all day, finishing second in every stage since the start of the event. Mikko is just 3”6 from leading the race after SS6.
El Cubilete wasn`t so good for Petter Solberg. The Subaru driver finished fourth in SS6 but lost 12”9 over Loeb. The Norwegian is definitely not in a comfortable position despite leading since the start of the race.
While Matthew Wilson is driving well for his first experience in Mexico, his teammate Luis Perez-Companc is not as successful. The Focus driver damaged his car`s front right wheel and driveshaft and retired from the leg.
