Mexico : After SS 10 - QuotesWith three stages already completed today, the crews headed back to Leon for a well-deserved stop at the service area. Time to get feedback from the drivers before they go back on the road.
Petter Solberg (Impreza WRC)
It`s been quite okay. The first one we lost a little bit too much, it didn`t feel like we had proper traction so we made some small adjustment to the centre diff and dampers and that helped. It`s working better now. The conditions out there are very tough especially on the tyres. We just have to do the best we can.
Chris Atkinson (Impreza WRC)
Not bad. But obviously running second on the road the surface is still quite loose. Marcus is doing good times but we`re not too far behind and on the last one we took some time off him. We`re fifth in the manufacturers` competition now and that`s important for the team. They did a great job with the car last night and it`s pretty much spot on. It took me a little time to get my confidence back after the roll but we`ve got a good rhythm now and we`ll keep pushing to get the best result we can.
Marcus Gronholm (Focus WRC)
"I`m not enjoying being first on the road again. It`s a difficult rally to be in that position. Everything was OK this morning until the last stage. I overshot a junction before halfway and had to reverse back onto the road. Then I came round a corner and found about 20 goats in the middle of the track. I managed to avoid all of them except one. And, worst of all, I came across some large rocks which had been deliberately placed all the way across the road."
Sebastien Loeb (Xsara WRC)
I am not surprised to have lost time in the second stage because the surface was very smooth. Last year, I lost 20 seconds in the same stage so I am quite relieved to be only four seconds behind Petter in that one! It will be very tight this afternoon because today, the surface of the stages are not as aggressive as they were yesterday.
Henning Solberg (307 WRC)
I am not pushing any more. I just go through the stages. I started quickly in stage eight then I started to lose the brakes, so I lifted off. It is not at all funny.
Luis Perez-Companc (Focus WRC)
Very rough and tricky stages and we had a brake problem in the last one.
Dani Sordo (Xsara WRC)
I had no confidence in stage nine. The two others were OK. I have a feeling that my driving is improving on gravel. It was the first time through for me, we`ll see this afternoon.
