Mexico : SS 12 - 23.75 km After completing the El Zauco timed event, the drivers headed South-East to reach Duarte, the starting point of SS12.
With no clouds on the horizon and a near-perfect temperature of 25 degrees, the stage is set for a good show. With a time of 17`44”0, Sebastien Loeb took his third consecutive stage victory, his sixth since the start of the rally.
The Frenchman is now back in the lead, despite Petter Solberg`s second place in SS12. The Norwegian lost 6”5 over the Kronos driver, enough for him to fall 4”8 behind Seb in the race standings.
Chris Atkinson set the third fastest time, 17 seconds slower than Loeb. The Australian driver is currently ninth in the overall results, hoping to catch Toshi Arai in eighth place.
Marcus Gronholm is another driver on the attack. The Finn`s stage time was only six tenths of a second slower than Atkinson`s. The Ford driver lies twelfth in the race standings, 39”8 behind Marcos Ligato.
Toshi Arai is still the leader of the Production category. The Subaru driver has a 40-second lead over Nasser Al-Attiyah, also driving an Impreza.
