Norway : Numedalsrally - FinishThomas Schie won today`s third round in the Norwegian Rally Championship, Numedalsrally. With his Ford Focus WRC03 he was 26.6 seconds ahead of Mads Østberg in a Subaru Impreza WRC.
Thomas Schie and his co-driver Göran Bergsten lead the rally from start to finish. After the three first stages they had a 21 seconds lead, and controlled the rest of the rally.
"This was fantastic after the trouble we had in the two first rounds of the Championship, and when we retired in Swedish Rally. We had no problems today, and the car worked just perfect," said Thomas Schie.
Anders Grøndal (Subaru), who led the Championship after two rounds, retired after he went off the road on the sixth stage today. He still holds the lead with 48 points, same as Trond Sveinsvoll (Ford). Mads Østberg has 46 and Thomas Schie is fourth with 45 points.
Numedalsrally was the last winter rally in the championship. The next round is on gravel 5-6 of May.
