Malcolm Wilson Rally set to go
The Fiesta SportingTrophy UK (FST UK) makes its debut at the Malcolm Wilson Rally on Saturday March 11th with 24 identical Ford Fiesta STs doing battle on some of finest rally stages in the United Kingdom.
The Malcolm Wilson Rally will offer drivers and co-drivers a hearty challenge in their identical Gp.N Ford Fiesta STs. The one day event starts in Cockermouth in the Lake District and takes in nine stages before ending back in the town that afternoon.

This new championship is designed to offer participants a competitive and reliable competition car with six national Fiesta SportingTrophy championships and an international championship with the Fiesta SportingTrophy International running alongside six rounds of the World Rally Championship. There are 28 registered entrants for Fiesta SportingTrophy UK.

"The Malcolm Wilson Rally is an excellent event and competitors in the Fiesta SportingTrophy UK are in for a treat," says Malcolm Wilson, whose M-Sport company design and build the rally kits which turns the road-going Ford Fiesta ST into a Gp.N rally car.

"To have 24 entries for the first FST UK event is something special and the competition on the stages is sure to be fierce," he says.

Not only is the rally sponsored by the M-Sport boss but Malcolm Wilson will also be contesting the rally in the same Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Focus WRC05 that his son Matthew Wilson uses in the World Rally Championship.

"The Fiesta ST is intended to be the start of the window of opportunity, which will go right through to WRC, in the Ford product range," explains Malcolm. "I`ll be looking over my shoulder for all those Fiestas in the event, although hopefully with the WRC Focus I`ll be able to stay ahead of them," he jokes.

The Malcolm Wilson Rally covers 198 miles, with 50 miles of the classic forest stages of the Lake District. It starts on Saturday 11th March in Cockermouth High Street at 9am and finishes at the same place at 4.30pm.
