In Germany at the wheel of a Peugeot 206 WRC Vojtech will drive a Peugeot 206 WRC
Stepan Vojtech and co-driver Michal Ernst will compete for the first time in the FIA World Rally Championship.
For him a dream has come true thanks to his longtime sponsor OMV CR and the support of the top national motorsport authorities the premiere at the OMV ADAC Rallye in Germany became possible.
The OMV driver will compete with his Peugeot 206 WRC in the eleventh round of the WRC 2005 and will be accompanied by his 50-man fanclub.
Successful careerStepan Vojtech started his career in rally sports in 1994 with a Peugeot 306. During the following years he drove a Toyota Celica GT and slowly started to catch up with the top driver of the national rally scene.
The OMV driver`s first experiences with the Peugeot 206 WRC came in 2002. Together with Hungarian Balasz Benik Stepan Vojtech scored an impressive double win at the OMV Rallye Waldviertel 2004 with the OMV colours. This year he has already competed in four important rallies at three of which he reached top places. He was runner-up at the Mogul Sumava Rally, reached third place at the Matador Rally and finished fourth at the Bohemia Rally.
Gathering experience and race kilometresStepan Vojtech, one of the top drivers in the Czech Republic currently in front of Jan Kopecky and behind Vaclav Pech in second place in the Czech Rally Championship will breathe WRC-air for the first time. One of my biggest dreams has come true. At my first assignment in the World Championship I mainly want to gather experience and race kilometres. My wish would be to reach the finish of the OMV ADAC Rallye on Sunday. 355 special stage kilometres are quite a challenge, explains the WRC rookie.
