A fast and demanding raceThe second most important motorsport event in Greece -following the Acropolis Rally- is the 30th EKO Rally which will take place between 23-25 September in Egialia, North Peloponnesus.
The two-day asphalt rally that constitutes the 8th round of the European Rally Championship, the 5th and 6th rounds of the Greek Rally Championship and the 4th round of the Greek Asphalt Cup, forms a very important motorsport event in our country.
In the 30th EKO Rally, apart from the key-players of the European and Greek Rally Championship, the spectators will have the chance to enjoy a rare spectacle that will be offered by the classical historical rally cars. It is worth mentioning that this rally counts with a coefficient 3 to the Historical Cars Rally Championship while this year`s organization is the “final rehearsal” for the introduction of this event to the respective European Historical Cars Rally Championship.
Other than this, the 30th EKO Rally, thanks to ELPA organization and the support of EKO oil company, aims to become a milestone for the European standards in the fields of organization, safety and promotion.
The asphalt rally this year will be hosted in the town of Egio, at the main square of which will take place both the starting ceremony on Friday afternoon, the 23rd of September, and the finish ceremony two days later. The administration, the secretariat and the Press Office of the rally will be hosted at Rio Hotel-Casino while the public parking lot in the beach of Akoli will be used as a service park.
The 30th EKO Rally consists of 13 Special Stages, some of which are used for the first time and spreads to Achaia and Korinthia Districts. It is a fast and demanding rally for the crews and has been designed to offer both spectacle and easy access to the spectators.
