A few key numbers after the race
They wanted to win, and they did. Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena (Citroen -Michelin) have taken their first win in the Tour of Corsica, the event which saw them spring to international acclaim with a privately-entered Toyota Corolla-Michelin in 1999. Bravo!
9 With a total of nine wins to their name in 2005, Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena have added a further success to their own record of eight victories in the same season they established in August`s Deutschland Rally!

12 Grand Slam! Sebastien Loeb and his Michelin -equipped Citroën Xsara WRC were quickest over every one of the twelve stages of the 2005 Tour of Corsica. A first in the WRC.

22 Loeb`s success takes Michelin`s score on the Tour of Corsica to 22 wins since1973, a record to which twelve other drivers have contributed.

222 Sebastien Loeb `s victory this weekend takes Michelin`s total to 222 WRC wins since the championship`s creation in 1973, a series which began with Jean-Claude Andruet`s Monte Carlo Rally victory in 1973.

2,398 Sebastien Loeb has been quickest over 2,398 km of stages since the beginning of 2005. Marcus Grönholm (927 km) and Petter Solberg (761 km) follow in 2nd and 3rd places.

114 the number of stages won by the crew of the N°1 Citroën -Michelin since the beginning of the season from a total of 255 stages covered.

49 Although the stages of the 2005 Rallye de France – Tour de Corse were essentially focused on the Ajaccio region, they were as varied and as challenging as ever, especially those of Day 2 which featured `traditional`, highly worn Corsican asphalt which is particularly aggressive on the tyres. There were numerous punctures during the weekend, but Michelin`s ATS system performed its role to perfection each time.

28 The Michelin N FP asphalt tyre (FP for `Fort Potentiel`) has now won 28 of the 30 asphalt rallies to have counted towards the WRC since its launch in October 1998 (29 if Loeb`s performance on the 2002 Monte Carlo Rally is taken into account when he was fastest on the stages before taking a time penalty).

6 Another top performance this weekend was that of Alexandre Bengué and his co-driver Caroline Escudero (Skoda-Michelin) who finished 6th overall, equalling the best result for the Skoda Fabia WRC in 2005 following Colin McRae`s 6th place on Rally GB.

2 Congratulations to Toni Gardemeister and Jakke Honkanen (Ford Focus WRC-Michelin) who scored a brilliant 2nd place in Corsica. It is the Finnish pair`s fourth podium of the season and their second 2nd-place finish behind Loeb on asphalt (2nd on the Monte Carlo Rally).
