Athanassoulas wins the S1600 category in Greece
The M-Sport revised Ford Fiesta S1600 scored its first victory in a rally in the hands of Lambros Athanassoulas.
The Fiesta, backed by Ford Greece and sponsored by JetOil, won the S1600 category in the last rally of the Greek Championship (Rally Corinth) giving a happy ending to a difficult championship year.
The Fiesta run trouble free all day, allowing the driver not only to win his class but to climb as high as sixth place overall in a gravel rally, overcoming many 4wheel drive competitors.
"It is an amazing feeling to win a rally after all these reliability problems we encountered this year," said Athanassoulas. "The car felt fantastic all day and we hope that it will be even better next year."
