Event voted as `Rally of the Year`
Rally Acropolis was voted `Rally of the Year` for 2005 among 16 countries, which organize a WRC event.
This honour is particularly important for Greece as well as for ELPA, the Automobile Club of the country, since the voters were the WRC manufacturers and ISC, the commercial and television rights holder of the WRC.
According to the manufacturers, "the capacity crowd attendance at the Athens Olympic stadium was seen as a new high point for the WRC in a rally which has progressed in every respect over the past three years. An excellent yet compact itinerary involving quality stages, good service park facilities incorporating HQ and parc ferme, a knowledgeable organisation team who responded to every query and greatly improved spectator safety were amongst the accolades from the teams."

Acropolis Rally succeeded in making the difference from other great rallies like Neste Rally Finland and Telstra Rally Australia that were voted second and third among the 16 events of the calendar.

On 2006 (June 1-4) the Acropolis Rally will be based in the world famous Athens Olympic Stadium.
