It will not register in `Manufacturer 2` classAtolye Kazaz Team Turkey has determined to participate as a private team in 2006 World Rally Championship.
After strong talks with several sponsors and drivers, the team decided not to register for ‘Manufacturer 2` category due to closing date for the entries being too early. The team will continue its WRC programme entering as many events as possible in 2006.
The Turkish team will be running 2005 spec. Subaru S11 World Rally Cars as well as the 2004 spec. S10`s with continued technical support from Prodrive. First event for the team looks like Uddeholm Swedish Rally in February.
“Manufacturer 2 category is a promising championship with reduced number of events instead of full World Rally Championship, and has great advantages, but also some risks and limitations,” said Atolye Kazaz Business Development Manager Kevin Morris. “We are going to continue our presence as a private team like we did in 2005, doing more WRC events this time. We haven`t closed the ‘Manufacturer 2` chapter, just postponed it for a year.”
