Stéphane Prevot joins the Subaru driverSubaru World Rally Team driver Stéphane Sarrazin has selected Stéphane Prevot to be his co-driver for the 2006 season.
Prevot, 36, partnered his fellow Belgian François Duval on six rounds of the 2005 World Rally Championship and will make his competitive debut alongside Sarrazin on January`s Monte Carlo rally, the first event of the 2006 series.
The pair will contest four asphalt rallies throughout the season and will play a significant role in the team`s 2006 Pirelli tyre test programme.
"Stéphane has a lot of WRC experience to offer and I`m very pleased to have him alongside me," said Sarrazin. "I am also very grateful to Denis Giraudet for his help and support throughout 2005. He is an excellent and very professional co-driver but with a new season ahead I felt the time was right for me to try something different."
"Stéphane Prevot was part of the Subaru team in 1999, when he was co-driving for Bruno Thiry and we`re happy to welcome him back in partnership with Stéphane," said SWRT Technical Director David Lapworth. "I`d also like to add my personal gratitude to Denis for the significant contribution he made to Stephane`s development last year."
